In no particular order, here are my Top Ten London Musicals Of All Time, the dream team of shows that have made an impression on me and some I would love to see back in the West End.
10. Oliver!
Come on who isn't pulled at the heart strings by an orphan boy pulled in to a life of crime in Dickensian London?!
9. We Will Rock You
This gets the audience singing and their inner would-be rockers inside of them are of course in their element... including myself!
8. The Commitments at the Palace Theatre
Everyone has a dream and music has a way of cementing friendships and bonds and this certainly applies to The Commitments.
7. Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre
I remember the buzz surrounding this show when it was first coming to the west end and over 8 years later it a still defying gravity in every possible way, it's sensational.
6. Cats at the London Palladium
Spine tingling and beautiful who knew that the life cycle of cats would be such an enduring and exciting show with a revival currently in The West End at The London Palladium.
5. Once at the Phoenix Theatre
What struck me about this show is the pure musicianship demonstrated in this show that together with a touching love story made this production a real diamond in the crown of musical theatre.
4. Love Never Dies
I'm a hopeless romantic so when my friend got me tickets for my birthday four years ago to see this I was thrilled, and fell in love with the Phantom all over again while hypnotised by title song sung so exquisitley by Sierra Boggess.
3. Sunny Afternoon -The Kinks Musical at the Harold Pinter Theatre
When I saw this at the end of last year It became an instant favourite of mine, the ingredients were all there: a 60's soundtrack of Kinks music, a well acted story and an electric atmosphere!
2. The Phantom of The Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre
The music of Phantom still gives me goosebumps 13 years after I first saw it and might I add I was also sitting underneath the chandileer on that first visit..
1. Jersey Boys at the Piccadilly Theatre
This is a timeless show, the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons is reconigsed around the world and with stellar performances and Frankie Valli's incredible falsetto voice this show hits all the high notes!
