    MICHAEL FEAST JOINS PYGMALION

After the withdrawl of Simon Ward due to illness during the previews of Pygmalion at the Garrick Theatre, Michael Feast takes over in the role of Alfred Doolittle, the dustman father of Cockney flower girl Eliza, played by Kara Tointon.

Since Simon fell ill during previews his understudy Brendan Hooper has played the role of Alfred Doolittle and will continue to do so until Monday 23rd when Michael Feast steps in.

Feast’s last London outing came in Plague Over England, in which he played lauded English actor John Gielgud.  Other theatre credits include The Accused at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Macbeth in the West End, Broadway and The Chichester Festival Theatre; The Forest, The Tempest, No Man's Land, American Buffalo, Dispatches and Watch It Come Down at the National; Faust, Measure for Measure and Murder in the Cathedral for the RSC and Phaedra at the Donmar Warehouse. His film and television credits include Silent Witness, Penelope, Long Time Dead, Young Vlades, Sleepy Hollow and Velvet Goldmine.

The production also features Rupert Everett as Professor Henry Higgins, Kara Tointon as Eliza Doolitle, Diana Rigg as Mrs Higgins, Peter Eyre as Colonel Pickering, Peter Sandys Clarke as Freddy Eynsford Hill, along with Marty Cruickshank and Roberta Taylor.
