    Charing Cross Theatre

Charing Cross Theatre, is, as you’ve probably guessed, the theatre located right by Charing Cross station! It was formerly called the New Players Theatre, and is situated right under the arches in Villiers Street.

It is a perfect venue, nice and compact and accommodates seating for 262. It has a bar (with Piano!) and restaurant, where you can choose from modern cuisine, and drink until 2.30am, the perfect way to end your night in the theatre.

Friday nights are a hoot at this venue, with the lively lounge bar, and talented pianists and singers, you can guarantee a fun night and a good sing along!
The theatre itself has a range of small plays. They are not always performing every night, so it is best to check before you go. The theatre hosts a mixture, of drama, musicals, comedy, cabaret and late night shows.

The current show at this theatre is Naked Boys Singing, and i will let you guess what the content of this play consists of! But if you want a fun, lighthearted laugh, whether it be with friends, a girls night out or colleagues, the songs celebrating the splendour of male nudity will entertain you from curtain up to trousers down!! Its currently showing on Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm

Upcoming shows will include the cabaret show Burlesque, Under the Arches, John Leguizamo - Ghetto Klown, and comedy by Greg Davies among many others.

Live music gigs can be seen and heard at this venue. You can search on line for details of the next line-up of live music. There are different music styles to suit all tastes, which include jazz, modern and popular show tunes! You can even join in the fun by grabbing that mic and sharing your singing heart out at ‘open mic’. Many of the west end musical theme tunes are played here, and you may also spot some cast and crew as this is said to be one of their hangouts!

Its quite unusual for a west end theatre to have a restaurant, but this theatre accommodates those that may fancy a pre-theatre dinner, a quick bite, a celebratory dinner or just a catch up with nibbles and cocktails! This venue even has a license for marriages and civil ceremonies.

It is really easy to get to the Charing Cross theatre, main line rail station Charing cross is on one side, and tube stop Embankment the other.
